A profile of the Library was published in 1999 by the State Library of New South Wales. This document starts with the history of library services to the region and finishes with plans for the future.

All libraries have various management tools. The fundamental rules and procedures for the Monaro Regional Library and Information Service are set out in Library Policies. Priorities for the Library are described in the Management Plan.
